The Maine Bike Rally, a family-friendly event for bicyclists of all ages and abilities, will be in Fryeburg on July 11-13, 2008. Organized by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, the Casco Bay Bicycle Club, Merrrymeeting Wheelers Bicycle Club, and Fryeburg region bicyclists, the event has something to offer everyone. In addition to celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Maine Bike Rally will also be the site of the League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike Rally! Marketed to tens of thousands, the event will attract at least 500 bicyclists from Maine, New Hampshire, the Northeast, as well as from across the United States and Canada.

Maine Bike Rally

This event, now in its 20th year, features some of Maine’s and New Hampshire’s most scenic bike rides along winding country lanes and mountain valleys. The three-day event offers over 30 on- and off-road routes from 1 to 100 miles long, and a wide variety of programs and activities including bike safety clinics, the Ice Cream Social, kids’ rides and activities, slideshows, the Maine Bike Expo, and more. The Maine Bike Rally is a fine-tuned event with a track record of success and strong partnership with other local organizations such as the Casco Bay Bicycle Club (Portland), the Merrymeeting Wheelers Bicycle Club (Midcoast Maine), and many local residents and businesses. In celebration of its 20th Anniversary in 2008 and being the hosts for the National Rally, we will increase our marketing across Maine and the U.S through the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s popular web site (10 million hits annually), 20,000 event brochures, press releases, posters, feature stories, targeted emails, mailings to our 6,000 constituents, outreach to the membership of the League of American Bicyclists, Adventure Cycling Association, and much more.
