Allison Vogt, Brunswick, Executive Director
photo of Allison VogtspaceAllison joined the Bicycle Coalition of Maine in 2008. She previously served as executive coordinator of the East Gulf Coastal Plain Joint Venture based in Auburn, Alabama. She coordinated the efforts of state and federal partners in six Southeastern states to further conservation of bird species and habitats. Vogt also has worked on Capitol Hill as a Congressional legislative assistant focusing on environmental issues. Vogt has a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Notre Dame and a master's in ecology from the University of Georgia. She and her husband live in Brunswick.

Shoshana Hoose, Communications Coordinator
photo of Shoshana HoosespaceShoshana Hoose began working as the BCM’s communications coordinator in March 2007. She helps publicize the coalition's efforts to promote bicycling, bike safety and trail development in Maine. Her duties include handling media relations, editing the "Maine Cyclist" newsletter and updating news on the Bicycle Coalition's website. Shoshana previously worked as a newspaper reporter, feature writer, manager of Portland's educational access television station and independent film maker. She is a longtime BCM member and has long admired the organization's accomplishments on behalf of Maine cyclists. She rides her bike as much as possible for errands, relaxation and adventures.

Deborah Ladner, Education & Membership Coordinator
photo of Deborah LadnerspaceDeborah joined the BCM in 2000 and is responsible for a wide range of programs including coordinating bicycle safety in elementary schools statewide, after-school bike clubs, and statewide teacher trainings in our partnership with MaineDOT, She also oversees membership, the annual BikeMaine Event Calendar and the Women's Ride for Heart Health. Deborah enjoys using her training in health education teaching injury prevention and health promotion through bicycling. She's an active member of MAHPERD, Maine Public Health Association, and Cardiovascular Health Council. She is seen frequently driving her Trek hybrid along with her kids Justin and Jessica.

Sarah Cushman, Southern Maine Safe Routes to School Coordinator
photo of Sarah CushmanspaceSarah Cushman believes walking, biking and sharing transportation with others (i.e. busing and carpooling) are good not just for the body and the planet, but also help people connect with their community and the natural world. She is contracted with BCM through her consulting practice, Cushman Transportation Consulting, LLC, which helps individuals and organizations green their transportation and save money. Sarah also is the founder and a volunteer organizer of Portland Green Streets. She brings to her work her varied skills in community organizing, environmental education and experience as an ASE Master-Certified auto mechanic. Sarah lives in Portland - where she walks, bikes and rides the bus with her husband and daughter.

Bill McMurray, Event and Volunteer Coordinator
photo of Bill McMurrayspaceBill became BCM's Event and Volunteer Coordinator in June 2009. He is responsible for planning and supporting BCM events and for organizing the volunteer efforts that always help to make those events so successful. A native of Brunswick, Bill lived in the Boston and San Francisco Bay areas for many years. Prior to joining the BCM team, he worked in the field of college admissions counseling for almost 30 years, holding positions at both the college and high school levels. Bill holds a bachelor's in psychology and English from Bates College and a master's in higher education from the University of Vermont. He lives in Portland with his cat, Watson, and can be seen riding his celeste green Bianchi all over Cumberland County.
