Crowd Gathers at State House to Promote Trails for a Healthy Maine Bond

Augusta, Maine - February 27, 2007 A new trail with footprints and trail signs will be unveiled at the Maine State House on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. The indoor trail will lead legislators and visitors to the Welcome Center for an 11:30 AM press conference in support of a $10 million Trails for a Healthy Maine Bond. Trails for a Healthy Maine is a coalition of trail organizations, trail advocates, and community leaders who support the development of shared-use trails, and believe that shared-use trails can contribute to the health, economic development, and quality of life in communities across Maine. The coalition supports the construction of shared-use trails for every region in Maine.
