Women's Ride For Heart Health
Each summer the Bicycle Coalition of Maine hosts the Women's Ride for Heart Health with rides along scenic routes in Maine. Heart disease is the #1 killer among women in Maine. Modifiable risk factors include a lack of physical activity, smoking and diet. This all-women awareness ride is a great opportunity for those who haven't ridden bikes since childhood to rediscover the health benefits -- and fun -- of bicycling. Proceeds benefit the BCM's education mission of teaching bike safety to schoolchildren across Maine. Join us for the You'll have your choice of 5-, 10- and 25-mile rides. Again we'll offer free massage therapy, nutrition presentation, heart health related exhibitors as well as yoga. Sorry men, this event isn't for you; women-only shall be cycling.

We are offering for the first time the opportunity to purchase a Women’s Ride commemorative pin designed exclusively for the Bicycle Coalition of Maine by Zia Art. The pins are dried bleeding heart flowers on a choice of four backgrounds – black, green, red and blue. The pins are 1-1/2” square glass, framed with silver foil with a pin clasp. Inscription on the back of the pin reads: BCM Women’s Ride for Heart Health 2009. Each pin is $20.00 and comes wrapped in an organza gift bag.
