27-year-old Pedestrian Killed by Driver in Bar Harbor

(Bar Harbor, Maine) Dec. 11, 2020 – A 27-year-old woman was struck and killed by a driver while in a crosswalk on lower Main Street in Bar Harbor Thursday morning—marking the ninth pedestrian fatality in Maine this year.

Mckenna Unobskey, a Trenton resident, was hit by Russell Clark, 63, of Bar Harbor, who was operating an SUV.

“We are deeply troubled to hear about the loss of another Maine resident at the hands of the driver of a motor vehicle,” said Bicycle Coalition of Maine Executive Director Jean Sideris. “As the days get shorter, it is imperative that motorists slow down and exercise extra caution and concern for other, more vulnerable, road users.”

The accident was still under investigation as of Thursday afternoon with traffic shut down along State Highway 3 for several hours while the scene was reconstructed.
