Bicycle Rodeo teaches Maine kids the importance of bike safety

A free event in Maine aims to teach and educate kids about the importance of bicycle safety.

The Bike Rodeo is a free community event designed to teach and encourage kids to ride bikes safely. There will be helmet giveaways, prizes, and snacks.

The event is being held on Saturday at the Crooked River Elementary School in Casco from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizers say to bring your water bottle, helmet, and bike for instructional rides on a closed traffic skills course that teaches the rules of the road.

You can also get your bike a mechanical check-up and a helmet fit check.
