SEDGWICK, Maine — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian Monday night.
The collision happened in Sedgwick, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office. Crews who responded to the scene found a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
Deputies told NEWS CENTER Maine the driver had left the scene. They said they identified the driver and car later Monday.
Charges have not been filed but may be at a later time as the investigation continues.
