MECHANIC FALLS, Maine —
A man was hit by an SUV while crossing Pleasant Street in Mechanic Falls Saturday night. According to Mechanic Falls Police, 28-year-old Matthew Webb was crossing the street around 9:37 p.m. when he was hit by a Ford Edge.
Webb was taken to Central Maine Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. The driver, 28-year-old Taylor Brown, and one passenger were evaluated at the scene but did not require transport.

Pleasant Street was closed for four hours while the scene was investigated. A crash reconstructionist from the Lewiston Police Department responded as well as the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, Androscoggin County District Attorney’s Office, and United Ambulance Service.
The crash remains under investigation.
