Dover-Foxcroft to Old Town Route Description
Our final day of riding heads west with some quick climbs. We’ll say farewell to the Piscataquis River as we cross it for the final time on our westward trajectory toward Sangerville. We’ll climb county roads to gain a long view of the countryside before turning southeast toward Garland. The road snakes through trees toward Garland Pond, then becomes a gradual downhill roll through farmland in the rural towns of Kenduskeag and Glenburn. The route turns hard south at the banks of Lake Pushaw, and follows the southern edge of the lake to continue east into Orono, home to the University of Maine. We’ll end BikeMaine 2020 where we began, by the Penobscot River in Binette Park, Old Town.
