Champion the Cure Challenge is the only event in our region that funds local cancer research and enhances patients’ care and their experience living with cancer. Participants take the Challenge to ensure that Maine people get the very best cancer care available as close to home as possible. It’s a bold vision, but we believe that by working together, cancer doesn’t stand a chance.
In 2024, nearly $680,000 was raised through the Challenge. In total, the event has raised more than $7.8 million to support cancer research and patient care at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Cyclists:
5 AM – Flexible start for 100-mile cyclists
6 AM – 100-Mile cycle group send off
7 AM – 75-Mile cycle group send off
8 AM – 50-Mile cycle group send off
9 AM – 12 & 25-Mile cycle group send off
Walkers & Runners:
9 AM – 1K, 5K, & 10K runners & walkers staggered send off
