Ride/Walk of Silence – Portland
May 20 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

The Ride of Silence, an annual international bicycle ride will be hosted in Portland by the BCM on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 at 6:30pm.
New this year, we are also hosting a Walk of Silence to honor the disproportionate number of pedestrians who were killed by traffic violence in the past year.
With options to participate on bike or by foot, the event honors road users who have been injured or killed by traffic violence while biking or walking, raises awareness that bicyclists and pedestrians have a legal right to use the road, and reminds motorists to respectfully share the road with all users. Join participants worldwide in a silent, slow-paced ride or walk to commemorate those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. We will meet in the parking lot of CycleMania 65 Cove St, Portland, ME 04101.
Although the event is free, we ask that riders and walkers register here. A helmet is required for the ride. Bicycle headlights and tail lights are recommended.
