Community Spokes Webinar – Launching ‘Imagine Bikes Here’

February 17, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Bicycle Coalition of Maine is proud to announce the launch of a new campaign, “Imagine Bikes Here.” Throughout 2016 we will work with local advocates and municipal officials to create temporary demonstration projects that improve safety and access for bicyclists and pedestrians in communities across the state.
We’ll hear Abby King and Jim Tasse of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine about the “Imagine Bikes Here” campaign in Maine. You’ll learn how you and the groups you work with can submit proposals to build temporary bike and walk-friendly demonstration projects this year.
On this month’s call we’ll be joined by Julie Flynn of Street Plans Collaborative, an urban planning, design, and research/advocacy firm with offices in Miami, New York City, and San Francisco. Street Plans is known for advancing innovative practices to test and implement projects for a range of public, private, and non-profit clients. Julie will give us an overview of the “Tactical Urbanism” movement in the U.S. She has led bikeway demonstration projects across the country and will share her experiences with us.
