Beginner Women’s Road Cycling Class

This 5-class series is a perfect introduction for women to group riding, road cycling safety, training and bicycle mechanics. It is designed for new riders looking to improve their cycling experience, those who are coming back to cycling after a break and riders looking take their passion to the next level.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is for every woman with a common goal of improving their fitness, bike skills and knowledge about road cycling. Riders are generally aged anywhere between 20 and 70 and usually have some experience riding on the road and in groups, but not always. Riders should be able to complete a ride of 15 miles.
WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Learn biking fundamentals- everything from proper tire pressure to how to climb hills and everything in between.
  • Discuss what can be done off the bike to increase safety and reduce injuries.
  • Learn basic bike mechanics using basic tools.
  • Learn the rules of the road and how to ride in traffic.
  • Develop your group riding skills and understand the benefits of riding in a group.
  • Improve overall fitness.
  • Climb hills more efficiently.
• Ride longer with more energy and recover better.
• Ride with increased confidence and independence, knowing you can make your own minor repairs and adjustments.
What’s Included
• Five 2-hour sessions

  • Bike handling skills clinic

• Basic mechanical knowledge clinic
• Three supported rides; no-drop rides include planned regroup locations and shortened route option.
• Ride leaders on the road with you.
COST

$150 per participant (breaks down as $30 per session)
HOW TO REGISTER
Sign-up on the Strategic Racing + Training website. Classes will meet in the evenings on the midweek scheduled days, and in the mornings on the weekend scheduled days.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Nicole has been riding bicycles for over 25 years, enjoys the local group rides and has competed in many races. She wants to share her passion for the sport with others and assist riders with improving their awareness and comfort on the bike. Nicole is a certified USA Cycling coach.
