Events for February 22 - April 22
The Bicycle Coalition of Maine stays busy with events all year round to connect with as many pedestrians and people on bikes as possible in a variety of ways. We seek to educate adults and children about bike/ped safety through presentations and courses, host interactive demonstrations that advocate for improvements to bike/ped infrastructure, provide valet bike parking at local events, and organize gatherings and group rides to raise awareness and enthusiasm about our mission.
The event calendar below lists our upcoming events and those hosted by our partners and supporters. Check it out, and join us as we strive to make Maine better for biking and walking!
The 131st Legislature is just getting started! BCM worked with legislators and partners all summer and fall to field bills that promote access, safety, and convenience for vulnerable users of the transportation system in Maine. Learn about the bills, and how you can help enact policy that supports making Maine better for bicycling and walking.

Rob is the former President of the Greater Portland NEMBA Chapter, a trail builder and now Gorham City Council Member. He was also one of the minds behind building the Gorham trail system and the pump track namesake (not his choice). We talk with Rob about what inspired him and others to make trails in their town, and what it took to make it happen!
Bicycling + Packrafting = Bikerafting! Packrafts are ultraportable inflatable rafts that enable one to go on fun hybrid pedal / paddle adventures. We visit special guest Alejandro Strong of Packraft Maine to learn more about bikerafting equipment, how it all comes together, and how best to get started. We even highlight some beginner bikerafting routes right here in Maine!
BCM's Instructor Program is a new opportunity to be trained and certified to teach bike skills, give safety presentations, and set up bike rodeos with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine. Have you wanted to become a bike/ped leader and be able to address the educational needs in your community? Ever thought it would be fun to lead road or mountain bike skills clinics, but don’t know where to start? Become a certified BCM Instructor!
