BCM is pleased to announce we have partnered with the Maine Department of Transportation on a program to distribute commercial bicycle racks to public facilities throughout Maine. Each applicant is eligible for up to a $1,500.00 value of bicycle rack infrastructure per location (applicants may apply for multiple public locations) to be purchased by BCM and delivered directly to your municipality. Permanent installations are highly preferred. Free standing “movable” installations are considered in special circumstances. Funds will be awarded through a review process administered by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine.
Example eligible locations include:
- Libraries
- Schools
- Municipally owned buildings
- Community centers
- Parks
- Downtown areas
Not eligible:
- Private property
- Nonprofits
- Non-governmental organizations
Application Details
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from now until October 30, 2026. Per program parameters, all bicycle racks must be installed or planned to be installed by December 31, 2026. Please note that storage and installation costs of racks are the responsibility of the applicant. It is anticipated that shipping can take anywhere from five to eight weeks once ordered.
