The Bicycle Coalition of Maine has partnered with the Maine Department of Transportation to deliver active transportation technical assistance and bicycle rack infrastructure to Maine communities.
We can work with your community to address your top safety concerns or help you identify them. Example initiatives we are suited to assist with are:
- Bike/ped public engagement
- Assistance with local municipal processes
- Planning or design of demonstration projects
- And more!
If your municipal public facilities need bicycle racks, we can procure your desired rack hardware. The local recipient is expected to fund and coordinate installation and maintenance of the bike racks. Example eligible locations are libraries, schools, municipally owned buildings, community centers, parks, downtown areas, etc. Private property is not eligible.
