Volunteer at the BCM Joy Ride FUN-draiser!

On Sunday June 8, our third annual BCM Joy Ride Fundraiser takes place along the coast in York County, Maine, celebrating cycling, walking, good food, and community. This year we’re offering two ride options, an 18 mile family-friendly ride, and a more adventurous 35 mile ride, that start and end at Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, each with a break for “Shore-cuterie” by the beach and a finish line lunch and afterparty with live music, games a raffle and more!

We’re looking for some stalwart volunteers to help us set things up bright and early in Kennebunkport, volunteers to drive and move people and things from one location to another, volunteers to help during the party part of the event at food and raffle tables, as well as some break down, and then at the end of the day, a couple of people to help us unload our truck and put things away at the end of a long day. And if you like to take pictures we could use your help too! Have questions? Give us a call 207-623-4511 or email info@bikemaine.org.

Joy Ride Fundraiser – Morning Shift (7:30a – 10:30a) Tasks include Parking, General Set Up, Bike Repair Station (will need approval) Registration Table (experience with computers helpful). We’ll treat you to coffee and baked goods!

Joy Ride Fundraiser Drivers & Runners (9:00a – 1:00p) Two helpers with clean driving records and vehicles that can carry a large amount of supplies or people are needed to pick up and drop off items between the Trust and Timber Point, or make a run into Kennebunkport for lunch pick up. Please contact our office for more information.

Joy Ride Mid-Day Shift (10:30a – 2:30p) Do you like people? This is the shift for you! We’re looking for people to man our Ride Check-In Table, our Food Table, and our Silent Auction/ Raffle Table. We’ll also need a couple of extra folks to jump in as needed (Breakdown) but everyone will be asked to help break things down as the party winds down.

Joy Ride Fundraiser- Unloading in Portland (3:30p – 5:00p) When the day is over, and the truck has been loaded and comes back to Portland, we could use a few helping hands to help us unload! Please join us at our storage facility for about an hour as we offload bikes, tents, water coolers and more. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Joy Ride Fundraiser – Photographers (flexible) We’re looking for a photographer or two to help us capture the Joy of this day. Pictures of riders, staff, volunteers, the band – all are appreciated! In return we can offer a lunch and photo credits for any image use in our social media or in any print publications.
