Bicycle Coalition of Maine (BCM) will return to the Maine midcoast in Fall 2026 for a scenic coastal ride with community vibes and a fun celebration at the end! This one-day fall celebration will feature three scenic route options—approximately 15, 30, and 50 miles—designed to accommodate riders of all ages and abilities. The event will begin and end at Snow Marine Park in Rockland, Maine, and will include a welcoming start/finish festival with an event tent, registration and information area, local food vendors, and bicycle support services. It’s more than a ride – it’s a community homecoming.

Event Information
Route options
There will be three route options available for the 2026 Lobster Ride!
13 Mile (Ride with GPS) – This route will head south out of Rockland and toward Spruce Head, where it will then loop back towards Rockland. Estimated elevation gain will be 720ft.
30 Mile (Ride with GPS) – Heading south out of Rockland towards South Thomaston. It will then head to Fort St. Georges, swinging by Spruce Head, and making its way north to Owls Head.
50 Mile – TBD!

PARKING
Please park at the Mid-Coast School of Technology located at 1 Main Street, Rockland, ME 04841. It is a short walk/ride down Mechanic street to Snow Marine Park.
Food and Refreshments
Food and drink will be available for purchase from local vendors the end of the ride.

Rules and General Information
Rules and General Information
- Helmets MUST be worn and fastened at all times while on the bike.
- The course includes roads open to traffic. ALL riders MUST obey all rules of the road along the course. Ride on the right at all times and single file where traffic is present. Ride predictably.
- Though there will be an aid station(s) and limited support on the course, this area is remote so all riders should carry with them what they need including tools, parts, additional clothing, and nutrition.
- Please let event staff know if you leave the ride for any reason. We want to ensure everyone is safe and accounted for at the end of the day.
- E-bikes: Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes are allowed all routes.

- Rain Date is October 17, 2026. All proceeds support the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s education and advocacy efforts. As a 501(c)3 organization, our educational programs are offered for free statewide and our local, and state advocacy efforts work for all Mainers to provide access to safer (and better) walking and biking in Maine. Your participation in this ride ensures our work can continue. Thank you! For 2026, the full registration fee is considered a donation.
- I need to cancel my registration. Can I receive a refund?
- A full refund will be available for cancellations up to 14 days prior to the event (September 26th, 2026, 5PM). Cyclists will ride at their own risk and must wear a helmet.
- Participants are required to sign a liability waiver.
