Wednesday Webinar on Vision Zero Reporting
March 5 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Join us March 5 for a Wednesday Webinar discussing Vision Zero Reporting. Vision Zero Reporting seeks to shift how crashes are reported and the questions we ask in an effort to change our perception of these events from “accidents” to preventable situations. Leading causes of crashes include distracted driving, speeding, reckless driving, tailgating, driving under the influence of drugs, poor road design, among others. By all means, car crashes are preventable incidents caused by well-known, solvable systemic problems.
Media coverage wields significant power to effect change: media decides which stories warrant attention and how to frame the discussion. So why does local media almost always report these tragic stories as isolated incidents, failing to draw attention to the underlying factors and similarities? We’ll be joined by special guest Gregory Lang from Vision Zero Reporting and the BCM’s Active Transportation Director, Paul Drinan.
