FAQs – Joy Ride FUNdraiser

Tell Me About the Route, Start & Finish Times & Location. Is there a break?

  • Both rides begin and end at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, 57 Gravelly Brook Rd, Kennebunkport ME. The 35 mile ride begins at 9:30 am; the 18 mile ride begins at 10:30 am.
  • The route consists of 18 or 35 miles of supported road riding, and will take you through quiet Kennebunkport roads and reward you with breathtaking views of Horseshoe Cove, Granite Point, and Goose Rocks Beach.
  • The course is marked with paint and signs, and support vehicles are stationed along the route to assist.
  • Both routes will enjoy a rest stop by the beach at Timber Point with delicious “shore-cuterie” (think: charcuterie, but at the beach!) and more incredible views.
  • The routes will be released the day of the event.
  • You will need to sign a waiver for this event. If you are unable to complete the waiver prior, we will have a kiosk to complete it the day of the ride.

What are the Food and After Party Options?

  • At the finish line a catered box lunch from Mornings in Paris café will be waiting for you as you sit back and enjoy live music from the fabulous Ideal Maine Band!
  • Enjoy the post ride celebration with fellow riders! We’ll have lunch, drinks, games, a raffle, and more. You can also explore the trails at the beautiful Kennebunkport Conservation Trust.
  • Want to support a rider and/ or join the festivities without riding? We have a meal ticket only option. Families and friends are encouraged to attend!

Registration Questions and how is this a Fundraiser?

All proceeds support the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s education and advocacy efforts. As a 501(c)3 organization, our educational programs are offered for free statewide and our local, and state advocacy efforts work for all Mainers to provide access to safer (and better) walking and biking in Maine. Your participation in this ride ensures our work can continue. Thank you! For 2025, the full registration fee is considered a donation.

I need to cancel my registration. Can I receive a refund?
A full refund will be available for cancellations up to 14 days prior to the event (May 25th, 2025, 5PM).

What if the weather is bad the day of the event?
BCM staff will make a decision 48 hours prior to the event if inclement weather is forecasted and the event needs to me moved to the rain date (July 13th).
