ELLSWORTH, Maine — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Ellsworth, according to police.
Ellsworth police and fire departments, along with Northern Light Ambulance, responded around 8:30 p.m. to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash near 165 Main St., the police department said in a news release.
Officials said a 58-year-old Ellsworth woman was driving east on Main Street when her vehicle struck a 59-year-old man.
Investigators determined the pedestrian stepped into the path of the vehicle outside of a crosswalk and without a pedestrian crossing signal, according to the release.
Officers also saw signs that the pedestrian may have been under the influence, police said.
The driver was not injured, according to officials. The pedestrian was taken to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital for treatment and was later released, the release stated.
No charges are pending at this time, according to police.
